Reviews:

“This is a most welcome addition to the films and books about Paramahansa Yogananda, the most influential spiritual emissary from India to the West. The stunning visuals and coherent narrative tell a compelling story—not only about Yogananda himself, but, uniquely, about his illustrious lineage as well. I wrote a thick biography of Yogananda and I still learned a great deal from this well-researched film.”
–Philip Goldberg, author of "American Veda" and "The Life of Yogananda"

“This is a very beautiful film about the lives of the great Kriya Yoga Masters.
It was so lovely to see their lives reflected in such a wonderful way and the influence they have had on the development of kriya yoga and the spiritualisation of the Earth. It gives great faith that all is fine, even amidst the huge crisis we are facing at the moment. I loved to have a pilgrimage to many of the holy sites of these beloved Gurus through watching the film. The music was wonderful and the images of India so evocative. A beautifully made film! A lovely addition to the Awake film, covering different ground yet walking side by side.”

“This documentary offers a new perspective of Paramhansa Yogananda’s early life in India, his training by a lineage of great yoga masters, and his mission to the world. With in-depth research and never-before-seen photos and film footage, this film brings the great guru alive for everyone. If you’re interested in meditation, in the search for God, or in Yogananda’s life and training, you will find a wealth of information and inspiration.”

A beautiful, sensible, and sensitive film that takes the viewer on a transformational journey through the early life, spiritual inclinations, and profound influences of the Kriya Yoga masters upon Mukunda Lal Ghosh, who became Paramahansa Yogananda. The photos, historical documentation, musical soundtrack, and inspired storyline all contribute to the overall experience of pilgrimage. This film is a journey you will want to take, again and again.

“I am speechless. I never saw such a beautiful story about Yogananda and all the Kriya Yoga Masters. I feel really privileged that you chose our recordings all along the story that so beautifully you are describing. It is something you feel to watch over and over to soak all the holiness drop by drop. Its spirituality is sweeter than honey melt with jaggary. I could continue like that to emphasize my feelings while watching it. Congratulations, it is my favorite display of my "spiritual heroes". I cannot wait to share it with all our friends, Jai Guru, swami”
–Swami Nirvanananda Saraswati

“You might call this movie the “prequel” to Autobiography of a Yogi. It is filled with fascinating new information about Yogananda’s early life, and the great saints and sages who guided him. Stories we’ve never heard, images we’ve never seen, all meticulously researched and beautifully presented. A feast for heart, mind, and soul.”
–Asha Nayaswami, author of "Swami Kriyananda, LIGHTBEARER: The life and legacy of a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda"

“Yogananda and the Kriya Yoga Masters is an enlightening film into India, spirituality and the lineage of seers who brought yoga to light for much of the world.
For those new to this subject and those who have studied it for a lifetime, be prepared for the whole truth! The depth of wisdom revealed here is beyond any other project on this subject. It's presented with a brilliant mix of historical and present day imagery plus for many - rarely heard of accounts and never before seen photographs of the Swami's and Sages who comprise this incredible tale. The voice of the narrator is so pleasant, knowledgeable and sincere that the honesty of this world changing story comes through clearly and is done the justice it deserves. The filmmakers have delivered a truly beautiful film. Two thumbs up!”
